Annie Sloan Soft Wax Dark

Annie Sloan Dark Wax (Clear Wax Label Shown)
  • Item #: 114

Annie Sloan Soft Wax Dark is the consistency of soft margerine in a tub so it is easy to apply, is completely colorless and has very little odor.  To age and give texture to your painted pieces apply the clear wax first then apply apply the dark wax. Wipe off the excess then use the clear wax to take more off if you need to, but leave the dark wax in the recesses.
You can color the dark wax to make it less brown by using a little of our paint in the wax. Use Old White Paint in the clear to make white wax or a bit of Aubusson Blue Paint to make the dark wax almost black

For more ideas and terrific project ideas we highly recommend Annie Sloan's book, "Quick and Easy Paint Transformations". It contains 50 Chalk Paint projects and will inspire and instruct you.

We highly recommend that you purchase the Annie Sloan Clear Wax if plan on using Annie Sloan Dark Wax.  You need to apply the clear wax over your piece prior to using the dark wax. It acts as a barrier layer so you can control the amount of toning and antiquing with the dark Wax.  You can also mix a little clear wax with the dark wax for a lighter tone.  Clear and Dark waxes are invaluable to the furniture finisher. Use over the Chalk Paints for a mellow finish or for aged and distressed looks. Apply with a brush or rag.   We recommend the Italian Wax Brush for ease of application.

The waxes can become liquidity with heat so  store in cool place.  You can put in refridgerator for short time if needed.  Expect the consistency of margarine.  Also the waxes are sold by weight and are not filled to the brim.

This furniture wax will rejuvenate, restore the shine, and protect all interior painted and wooden  surfaces. 500ml tin
